Container pool design and installation process overview

From Quote to First Swim

Six simple steps to your dream pool. We handle the hard parts.

How Long Does Container Pool Installation Take?

Above-ground container pool installation takes hours — most customers swim the same day the pool arrives. The entire process from order to swimming typically takes 1 to 2 weeks, compared to 3 to 6 months for traditional in-ground pool construction. Your pool is built, tested, and fully assembled at our facility before it ships, so there is no on-site construction, no excavation for above-ground installs, and no waiting for subcontractors. In-ground installation requires excavation but is still dramatically faster because the pool arrives as a single, complete unit. Below is the full six-step process from initial consultation to your first swim.

01

Free Consultation

Tell us about your property, preferences, and timeline. We'll answer all your questions, discuss installation options (above ground, in-ground, or partially buried), and provide a detailed quote. Most consultations take 15-20 minutes and you'll have a quote the same day.

02

Site Preparation

Prepare your installation site with a level surface and 4 inches of compacted gravel for drainage. The filled pool weighs about 9 tons but distributes less than 1 PSI — lighter than a person standing. We provide a detailed site prep guide and can connect you with local contractors if needed.

03

Manufacturing

Your pool is handcrafted at our facility by certified welders at Chapman Services. A premium one-trip container receives a vacuum-infused fiberglass interior, high-density foam insulation, and all Pentair equipment. Every system is installed, plumbed, wired, and pressure-tested before shipping.

04

Delivery

Your complete, tested pool ships by truck from our Midwest facility. We deliver anywhere in the continental United States, typically within days of payment. We coordinate logistics and provide tracking so you know exactly when to expect delivery.

05

Installation

A standard crane positions the pool using the four corner castings built into every shipping container. The empty pool weighs approximately 2.7 tons. Once positioned, fill with water, connect to a 110v-220v 30 Amp GFCI circuit, and you're ready to swim — the entire process takes hours.

06

Enjoy & Support

Start swimming immediately. The fiberglass interior resists algae and reduces chemical needs — expect about 10 minutes of weekly maintenance. Your 5-year structural warranty and 3-year equipment warranty are active from day one, and our support team is always available.

Site Preparation Checklist

Before your pool arrives, prepare your installation site with these steps. Most homeowners complete site prep in a single weekend, and many handle it themselves without hiring a contractor.

Choose Installation Type

Decide between above ground, in-ground, or partially buried. Above ground requires no excavation and is the fastest option.

Level the Surface

For above-ground installation, ensure the surface is level within 1 inch across the pool footprint (20' × 8').

Lay Gravel Base

Spread and compact 4 inches of crushed gravel for drainage and weight distribution. The filled pool weighs about 9 tons.

Arrange Electrical

Have a licensed electrician install a dedicated 110v–220v, 30 Amp GFCI circuit within reach of the pool equipment panel.

Plan Crane Access

Ensure a crane can reach the installation site. The empty pool weighs 2.7 tons and uses the four corner castings for rigging.

Check Local Permits

Above-ground pools often require fewer permits than in-ground. Our team can help you understand your local requirements.
